Dageraad (2021, ongoing)

This 3-screen video-installation was a collaboration with artist Elen Braga and was presented in the basement of Château Nour (Komplot Brussels). 

 

One screen showed hands sculpting wax around a candle. This is footage of the vigil  that I organized with Elen Braga and participants. We stayed up the whole night, creating a ceremony leading up to our collective awaiting of the sunrise on small staircases. This experience forms the content for the second screen. On the third screen, a selection of footage could be seen that was shot during earlier solitary experiences of waiting for the sunrise and capturing this moment with an unsharp focus.
