Mountainous Landscapes, 2017

These are landscapes without people — a world from before or after all life. Scale dissolves: the small and the vast flow into one another. Is this a pebble, or an enormous mountain? The eye cannot be certain.

Watercolor, fire, light, scratches, digital manipulation… everything was allowed to shape these terrains. Through experiments with fire, paint, and backlight, working from raw material gathered in various natural locations, new worlds began to emerge.

From these fragments, I constructed dream-landscapes: a world of light, transformation, and boundless ambiguity.

Most works are presented in lightboxes, though they also exist as large-scale prints. As in many of my series, the selection process follows an intuitive rhythm — each image stands entirely on its own, telling its own story without the need for much narration.
