Christ's Back

I have a slight obsession with Christ crosses.
I photographed various statues of Christ that had been taken down from their crosses — bodies once fixed in suffering, now released yet still bearing the marks of attachment.

The fragile, sensitive, and surreal beauty of their backs and hips struck me deeply.
They reveal a vulnerability that is rarely seen — a silent tenderness behind the spectacle of pain.
